paint + dance
“Practice any art - music, singing, dancing, acting, drawing, painting, sculpting, poetry, fiction, essays,
reportage, no matter how well or badly, not to get money and fame, but to experience becoming;
to find out what’s inside you, to make your soul grow." - Kurt Vonnegut
These 2 embodied practices changed my life.
How? They brought me back into my body and, therefore, the present moment where I found an incredible
source of information, wisdom, guidance and energy. An intelligence that has always been with me, is available to
me right now, and will always be. What does that mean exactly? How is that useful? It means I can identify
what is actually going on, how I feel about it, what I want to do about it, and how to manage my energy so I CAN.
I can release stuck energy, and create something new.
It means that my very strong and very conditioned mind (we all have one) no longer controls me so I can actually live
and participate in real time, from who I am and who I want to be. I can use my mind as a tool, as it was meant to be,
and not be enslaved by past experiences or others' conditioning. It means
I AM FREE
I am confident. I am secure because I know how to care for myself, I know what to do because I am internally guided.
I have everything I need. And so do you.
All of the wisdom and all of the information that you need to live is found in your body
and in your heart. It’s immediate direct perception - Reggie Ray
